L'ambassadeur d'Angleterre à Paris : a demandé à Praslin s'il avait entrepris des démarches pour rapatrier les Acadiens [de Nouvelle Angleterre]. Négatif : droit de l'Angleterre de disposer entièrement de l'Acadie et des Acadiens.

When I mentionned your lordship's complaint with regard to the Acadians Mons. de Praslin seemed to be entirely ignorant of the matter, and he professed that except with regard to such Acadians as were at that time in England, he could not recollect any application made by the French Government in favor of these people. On the whole he seemed so sensible of his majesty's right to dispose entirely of Acadia and the Acadians that I shall venture to give your lordship assurances against any farther trouble on that subject.
