2638- “Pierrepont” 1871-1917- A Steamer of 252 tons gross and 123 feet long, built at Kingston, Ont., and still in commission as a ferry for passengers, horses and freight between Kingston and the adjacent islands in the St. Lawrence. Between 1880 and 1890 she plied as an excursion steamer between Toronto, Sunnyside and the Humber. On account of her shovel-like form she has been very successful as an ice-breaker.
